In 1990, the Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA") was established as a comprehensive approach to end discrimination against persons with disabilities. The ADA specifies that public entities that provide a routed bus service must offer comparable paratransit service to persons with disabilities within a 3/4-mile corridor for those who are unable to use the fixed-route bus system.
Clallam Transit Paratransit Services are referred to as "Clallam Connect." Clallam Connect provides door-to-door service with assistance for elderly and disabled persons within its service area. Clallam Connect locations and times are comparable to Clallam Transit fixed-route service. This is a shared origin-to-destination service with your fellow passenger.
Clallam Transit adopted the Americans with Disabilities Act Policy to provide information on how its services, programs, facilities, and communications are readily accessible and usable to persons with disabilities to the maximum extent possible.
